Project No. JPP Nr. 02-113-J-0001-J05-00063 · Beneficiary: MB Level Eleven Studio

StratOS is an advanced tactical drone simulator developed by MB Level Eleven Studio, designed specifically for modern military training environments. The platform addresses critical limitations in existing systems by delivering realistic operational scenarios tailored to contemporary battlefield requirements.

Problem & Objective

The objective of this project is to elevate StratOS to Technology Readiness Level 9 (TRL9) by integrating a dedicated Virtual Reality (VR) training capability into the existing simulator framework. This enhancement enables fully immersive, first-person mission execution, allowing military personnel to train in complex, high-risk scenarios with increased situational awareness, spatial understanding, and operational realism.

Planned Activities

  • Phased integration of a dedicated VR SDK into the existing StratOS tactical simulator framework

  • Porting of existing 3D tactical environments and Lithuanian military training ranges into a fully immersive VR layer

  • Development of VR controller logic and FPV piloting interaction adapted for head-mounted displays (Quest / Pico / Varjo)

  • Integration of haptic feedback and environmental effects to increase immersion and operational realism

  • Performance optimisation targeting ≤20 ms motion-to-photon latency, ≥70 FPS and low VR-sickness indicators

  • Operational validation and user acceptance testing with military training end-users to reach TRL 9

Expected Results

A market-ready, VR-integrated tactical UAV training simulator specialised for the defence sector and aligned with NATO standards. The product enables fully immersive, first-person mission rehearsal for military personnel, with measurable gains in tactical reaction time, spatial awareness and skill retention — deployable both in fixed training facilities and in forward operating environments.
